Our Grief Support Sessions

Empathetic Support for Your Healing Journey

We Offer Free Grief Support Group Sessions

Every Other Wednesday Evenings 6:00 PM – 8:15 PM

Irondequoit Public Library

Due to the demand, we currently have two groups running. Each group meets every other Wednesday (1st and 3rd Wed. / 2nd and 4th Wed.). You are allowed to attend two sessions per month around your life’s schedule. We do require any participant to pre-register prior to attending their first meeting. From there, they can a attend up to two times each month on a Wednesday as much or as little as it feels appropriate for their grief journey. Please fill out the registration found in the link on the main website page or click the link below:

Grief touches everyone— while we recognize that loss can take on many forms, our group centers on the loss of a loved one and the grief that follows. Death can create an array of emotions to accept the loss and then rebuild to the new normal. GGR is here to reinforce that you are not alone.

This is a gently-guided no-cost program designed to offer a safe, compassionate space for individuals grieving a significant loss. Together, we’ll explore the emotional landscape of grief, foster healing, and begin working toward your “new normal”—surrounded by others who truly understand. What we have discovered, is that it is the participants who counsel each other more than the group leader! A welcoming community puts their arms around each other and walks them towards the new normal.

Group Support vs. Personal Counseling

This is not therapy. This is a structured group sharing & support environment. For those seeking one-on-one support, let’s talk. The Founder does work privately with a few folks, or she can assist in finding local resources that offer more targeted services. Together, we can come up with a plan designed to address specific emotional needs and provide tailored guidance for you.
